In a remote area of southwest Alaska a small cargo plane in heavy weather slams into the frozen ground at nearly two hundred miles per hour and disintegrates. Nine hundred square miles of white, empty tundra separates the crash site from the nearest human being. The airplane's sole occupant is it's gritty, discontented pilot and, improbably, he's alive, coherent and hopelessly trapped. This novella is a provocative, true story and evokes the short works of Jack London , while offering the possibility that luck may have another name.
A DAY THAT GOD MADE Mike Masi eBook
There is really nothing bad about this short story; however, I did not find anything really good about it either. It does not have any offensive parts, and it is seemingly free of grammatical errors etc. It is the memoirs of a downed small aircraft pilot in the frigid snow laden Alaska. It is a tale of his thoughts, fears and what he believes to be, his impending death, after his plane crashed. The first part of the story was excessively dull and mundane; however, it picked up a bit after the crash. The whole story lacked appealing descriptive passages to help the reader envision the great Alaska Wild and the turmoil the pilot was experiencing. The monotone style of writing is rather drab, and it leaves much to the imagination. The whole tale, while touching, is a bit boring. The novella is a quick read, and has some anxious and tender moments. It seemed to me it was filled with bits and pieces instead of whole parts, and could very well have been a magazine article if it were not for the excessive flashbacks and Italian/English Christian references.

A DAY THAT GOD MADE Mike Masi eBook Reviews
An enjoyable quick read which will definitely bring hope to anyone who faces a dark moment.. A good faith builder too.
Kept my interest all the way through. I was very happy I picked this book. Having a word minimum really stinks!
A first hand account of a pilot's survival in a plane crash somewhere in Alaska. He was trapped under cargo that has been thrown on top of him. He could not move around or help himself. He could only hope they were looking for him. He was afraid of being defenseless from wild animals. An interesting story, worth the time to read.
Thank you for sharing your story and faith. The tears I shed for you were tears of joy and thanks for the faithfulness of our God. Jesus has promised to be with us always. You were truly blessed.
This true story of a solo pilot crashing in bad weather in Alaska is an easy and satisfying read. I was emotionally present with this man in the snow and cold and recommend this book to everyone.
I loved the short story. I haven't read a book from beginning to end in years. I happen to know and work with the authors father for years and when he told me the book was finished I just had to read it and boy am I glad I did. Kudos to 'Miracle Mike'!
This is a story that celebrates the life of a man - living it robustly, freely and blessedly. Very well written! He faces death alone in a frozen snowy wasteland never forgetting that the LORD has been with him. The Inuit who rally to rescue him show that God is in all of us. To all the free spirits who make up the backbone of the wild places.
